We have really enjoyed exploring the Egyptians more this term!
As part of our computing work this term, we have enjoyed communicating with a school in Egypt.
They went on a really interesting trip to the Pharaonic Village in Cairo and were able to send us some photos. We asked them some questions relating to their trip and they were able to answer lots of the questions using video messages!
We have been telling them all about our school day and the different things we have been learning about in maths, literacy and topic.
Recently, year 3 had a really exciting visitor. We had a fantastic WOW day and really enjoyed dressing up and being Egyptians for the day
On Tuesday, it was our WOW day! I was fantastic. We played Egyptian board games and then did Egyptian mathematics. But the best thing was the mummification. The visitor was called Dr Worral and we mummified her friend, Jeff (but it was actually a doll!) The best bit was going forward in time.

We wore Egyptian outfits. They were amazing! We learnt a lot about Ancient Egypt and we played some games. Then we watched the Doc. mummify her friend Jeff (Jeff was a dummy). At the end we listened to her tell a story which was great!

On the WOW day we did a quiz first. Then we looked at the map of Egypt and we discovered that lower Egypt was actually at the top of Egypt and upper Egypt was at the bottom.
