We are 4JC - our teachers are Mrs Jarvis (Monday-Wednesday) and Mrs Curtis (Thursday and Friday). We also have Mrs Tapping who supports us as HLTA across year 4. Miss Bush and Mrs Cooper also work in our class.
We are all really happy to be back at school after a VERY long break! We have talked together about how much we have missed the routine of school and in particular, all our friends. We are looking forward to getting stuck into year 4 and all the exciting learning that comes with it!
So, what have we done so far?
We had a very exciting visit during our first couple of days back in, from a 15th century Spanish sailor called Rodrigo De Triana!! He appeared in the school hall claiming he had been washed ashore from the boat of a very famous explorer. He set us the mission of discovering who his captain was! After a hunt around the classroom we worked out it was Christopher Columbus and that this term we will be learning all about The Tudors - we can't wait!
We have been busy recapping some of the key learning about number and place value and will soon be moving onto look at numbers up to 10,000 - wow!
Our whole school unit to start the term, focuses on a lovely book called 'Here We Are' by Oliver Jeffers. We are still reading our way through but the main theme of the book is 'Community and Kindness'.
We have enjoyed making predictions as to what the book might be about- who will be right?!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
