Welcome to 4W!
Our teacher is Mr. Williams and we also have Mrs Tapping who supports us as HLTA across year 4!
Hello! It is wonderful to be back at school isn't it?! Though there are some new rules and things to think about, we're getting back into the swing of things. I am so pleased to be teaching at Backwell Juniors - it truly is a privilege to spend my time with such a wonderful class as 4W.
We have talked a lot about our time away from school and how much we missed our friends and our routines, and we have been getting stuck into learning as a class once again.
So what have we been up to?
We had a very exciting visit during our first couple of days back in, from a 15th century Spanish sailor called Rodrigo De Triana!! He appeared in the school hall claiming he had been washed ashore from the boat of a very famous explorer. He set us the mission of discovering who his captain was! After a hunt around the classroom we worked out it was Christopher Columbus and that this term we will be learning all about The Tudors - we can't wait!
We have been busy recapping some of the key learning about number and place value and will soon be moving onto look at numbers up to 10,000 - wow!
Our whole school unit to start the term, focuses on a lovely book called 'Here We Are' by Oliver Jeffers. We are still reading our way through but the main theme of the book is 'Community and Kindness'.
We have enjoyed making predictions as to what the book might be about- who will be right?!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
