Hello all. Welcome to our Badger class page.
It has been amazing how well the children have settled into school life. They have enjoyed exploring all of the different areas of the classroom, made new friends and have been so grown up leaving their grown ups at the gate to come into school.
So far the children have participated in many finger gym and mark making activities to get their fingers ready for writing. Some of these included: making marks in sand using feathers, writing our names using our fingers in the shaving foam and even large scale drawings using chalk and chunky pens.
We then started exploring our senses. First we listened to different noises on a CD and tried to guess what animal was playing. Next we had a feely bag and used our hands to describe what the different items felt like. Then we used our eyes to look for different colours in our playground. We were amazed that we could find nearly all of the colours of the rainbow and not just green and brown! Then we stayed for lunch for the first time to explore taste and finally used our sense of smell to guess what items were hidden in four different pots by only using our noses.
Mrs Allen and Miss Harford have been amazed by how well the children have done so far. We can't wait to learn lots more with you all!
