What an exciting start to Year 1!
In Terms 1 and 2 we will explore the topic 'Me and My World'. As part of this topic work we will learn the names for the parts of the body and explore our senses. We will also link this learning to poetry on a similar theme.
As we move into Autumn we will investigate the world around us. This includes learning about the seasons and weather, maps of the world and locating and identifying plants within our environment. We will also investigate materials and learn how to identify and classify them.
As part of our topic we will be looking closely at leaves and using wire, clay and stitching to reproduce leaves that we have found interesting.
In addition to this we will be exploring the story 'The Little Red Hen' which will see us writing instructions for making toast and then following the instructions to make toast. We will then read 'The Tiger who came to Tea' and produce our own story books.
What busy terms!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
