Fundraiser - BJS: Replacement of Unsafe Outdoor Play Equipment
Backwell Junior School needs your help!
Help to raise approx £1,000 more to remove and replace the rusted, rotten and unsafe play equipment at the school. At the moment all of the outside play equipment has been roped off as it is considered unsafe for the children to use, leaving them with no outdoor play equipment for their enjoyment. With the Coronavirus pandemic, it is more important than ever for the children to have suitable play equipment to promote physical activity and healthy social interaction after months of isolation from their friends. Backwell Parish Council has kindly pledged £16,000, Bristol Airport Community Fund £10,000, Stancombe Quarry Community Fund, £4,965, and a local business, www.direct-fabrics.co.uk, £1,000 which means we have raised almost £32,000 towards the total £38,650 required for this essential project from local organisations.
Many enjoyed the PTA Lockdown Quiz, which was held on 5th March and we have had many generous donations of time and money which together has generated approx £3,000.
The school would love to secure the total required by Easter so the play equipment can be installed over the summer holidays.
Your donations will be so much appreciated.
Thank you to everyone for their ongoing support
