Inspirational Maths Days
On 7th and 8th January we enjoyed doing some 'Inspirational Maths'. We investigated tessellation, fractals and sierpinski triangles. We did lots of hands on exploring with shapes as well as creating our own pieces of maths art. Our work looks fantastic on display in the school hall and our class cloakroom.
Our topic this term is 'Rotten Romans'. We have begun our journey learning about the Celts.
Did you know?
*We have studied Celtic roundhouses and enjoyed creating our own fact-file houses. These are on display in our classroom.
*We have particularly enjoyed learning all about Boudicca and have produced some lovely water colour portraits of her too
Who was Boudicca?
We are looking forward to discovering Roman life next term!
Children's Mental Health Week, 4th-10th February
Throughout this national moment, children, young people and adults throughout the UK will be taking steps to be ‘Healthy: Inside and Out’ and look after their bodies and minds. We are taking part in lots of different mindfulness activities across this week, focusing on our breathing, how our senses play a vital role in relaxation and the impact of exercise. Justin Time even joined in some of the relaxation exercises too!
Safer Internet Day 5th February 2019
This year's Safer Internet Day campaign slogan is "Together for a Better Internet". We have focused on how consent works in an online context. In Year 4 we have been thinking about who 'owns' the Internet and thinking about different times we have needed to get permission to do things - both on the Internet and in life more generally. We now understand a little bit more about how diverse the Internet is and how important it is that we need to both ask for and give permission for the things we do online in order to protect everyone around us.
Keep safe online and remember to seek permission when needed!
