What a week! The sun shone and 5PB, along with the rest of BJS, had a fantastic week in our last week of Term 5. We were very lucky to experience a lot of different sports and activities and finished the week with a fantastic Sports Day.
Everyone arrived at school on the Monday in their PE Kits and the fun commenced! There was Yoga, Circus Skills and a trip to the woods on Monday and then Tuesday saw gymnastics in the hall and climbing with Mojo Active. The rest of the week included lasers and fencing practice, dance and then we were put through our paces in a boot camp session!
Sports Day rounded off the week on Friday, with a Year 5/6 football tournament and the exciting Bleep Test Final!
Mrs P and Mrs B were very impressed with everyone’s ‘have a go’ attitude and some great sportsmanship was shown throughout.
Anglo-Saxon Afternoon- 13.05.19
On Monday afternoon, the whole of Year 5 fully immersed themselves in Anglo-Saxon daily life! We had a go at the traditional art of weaving, producing pieces of woven material. To add to this, we found out about traditional clothing and recreated it using fabric. In 5PB, we worked collaboratively and selected authentic looking pieces of fabric for the silhouettes of Anglo-Saxon men and women.
Last week we headed down to the infant school to take part in our Science link activities. It was great to spend some time with the children in year 2 and to help them with the activities. We tested our response times, compared our body measurements and saw which of body challenges we could all do: can you roll your tongue?
