To navigate your way through the Oak academy lessons, click on the Next Activity button at the bottom right hand side of the screen. Often this will lead to an introductory quiz which is just a starting off point to see how much you already know and to give you a clue to what you will learn about in the lesson. You will need to close the quiz before you can move on. Click Next Activity to start the lesson video. You can pause the video when directed and return to this video at any point if you need to refresh what you learnt. Sometimes, additional worksheets or knowledge organisers are also available so click through to Next Activity to see if any are available for your task.
Each week please try to complete the English and maths tasks, including activities set for reading and times tables. The other activities are optional but we would hope that you would like to give them a try too! We appreciate working from home is tricky so just do your best.

All extension/support worksheets are listed below in Maths Resources.
For this sequence of lessons, you will need a protractor or use the printable version listed in the resources. If using the printable version, you may find it easier to measure the angles if you extend the lines on either side of the angle you are trying to measure.
Monday – Measure with a protractor Remember the different types of angles are based on their size in degrees. If you want to, try using this online protractor to measure angles https://www.visnos.com/demos/basic-angles Optional additional task: Identify if the angles on the Extension Task Sheet are greater than less than or equal to each other. Finding it tricky? Try to label each of the angles types on the worksheet. Wanting an extra challenge? Have a go at identifying each of the angles hidden within the picture
Tuesday – Drawing lines and angles accurately You will need a ruler, your protractor and a sharp pencil. Optional additional task: Have a go at completing one or two of the challenge cards. They get harder as you go through them so select carefully Finding it tricky? Use the sheet below to draw angles with multiples of 5 degrees and the base line already drawn for you. Wanting an extra challenge? Create abstract pictures by following the instructions on the ‘Creating pictures with angles ‘sheet. Explore different stating shapes and use a different colour way to make it your own!
Wednesday – calculating angles on a straight line Remember to use your addition and subtraction strategies to find the missing angles. You could use number lines or formal methods to help you. Optional additional task: Check to see if you have mastered the skills to calculate missing angles by completing the worksheet below. Finding it tricky? Watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBIJmmz8flI to help you further your understanding then try the question on the work sheet below which use multiples of 5 degrees. Wanting an extra challenge? Explore the interactive resource: https://www.interactive-maths.com/angles-on-a-straight-line-ggb.html scroll down to the second activity to see if you can work out the missing angle when it is surrounded by two other angles.
Thursday – calculating angles around a point You do not need a protractor today because you are calculating rather than measuring. Optional additional task: Select the right level for you (one, two or 3 stars) and complete the task sheet: Finding it tricky? Watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yt2yvO-xkhY to help you further your understanding then try the question on the work sheet below which use multiples of 5 degrees. Wanting an extra challenge?
